When news broke on TVLine that Netflix had extended The Umbrella Academy for a 4th season, it wasn’t shocking given reports that season 4 would most likely be the series finale if it was extended. However, Netflix didn’t make this choice.
The Umbrella Academy season 4: Release Date
So, how long do we have to wait till the new show comeback? It will take some time. In 2022, we have no expectation of it at all. However, it is challenging to predict when it could appear.
During the first and the second seasons, there was a 17-month gap. Although the pandemic did provide a challenge there, it took approximately two years between seasons 2 and 3. Accordingly, if there are no delays, we may estimate that it will take 17 months to finish the work. If production could begin prior to official confirmation, the earliest we might see the show is November 2023.
May 2024 is probably the furthest we’ll have to wait. We assume we won’t have to, but the story’s climax will be worthwhile anyway. The long delay is also not concerning for the series’ future because it is a finale.
