With Taika Waititi’s Thor catching the nerd world by storm, Chris Hemsworth’s impending Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder has kept fans on their toes. The length of the film has been revealed as ticket sales for the highly anticipated flick go live. The reintroduction of Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor, as well as the film’s startlingly short runtime, have added an unexpected twist to the story.
The fourth Thor film will have a length of one hour and 59 minutes, according to Comicbook, making it the shortest Marvel picture since Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018. The films are only a minute apart in terms of length, with Ant-Man clocking in at 118 minutes and Thor 4 clocking in at 119 minutes. The film’s length has piqued fans’ interest, especially because director Taika Waititi has called it his “craziest” yet in numerous interviews.
However, in a latest Instagram post, Waititi expressed his pride in his work, writing, “And that’s a wrap on Thor: Love and Thunder,” honoring the film’s formal wrap after principal photography wrapped last year. He further added, “Sometimes two people come together to inspire the world and change the cinematic landscape forever. And then there’s me and [Chris Hemsworth] who are too cool to care about anything except making movies that bring people absolute joy. Ok I don’t look cool I know that.” Waititi went on to note, “This film is the craziest thing I’ve ever done and I’m honored to bust my ass and have a nervous breakdown so you can all see it in May 2022.”
