At D23 Expo, Disney will reveal a sequel to the well-known Inside Out Pixar movie, but Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling apparently won’t be back.

Inside Out is a 2015 Pixar movie that became incredibly successful. Riley’s mind is home to five anthropomorphic emotions. In the film, Richard Kind played Bing Bong, while Amy Poehler played Joy, Phyllis Smith represented Sadness, Bill Hader played Fear, Lewis Black played Anger, and Mindy Kaling played Disgust.

The movie received $858 million in worldwide box office collections and an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. Even the National Board of Review named it one of the top ten movies of the year and nominated it for Greatest Original Screenplay.

Jim Morris, the president of Pixar, said in 2016 that the company would prioritize its original movies over sequels to previous movies like Inside Out, Ratatouille, and WALL-E.

During a press conference, Morris said, “Most studios jump on doing a sequel as soon as they have a successful film, but our business model is a filmmaker model, and they don’t make a sequel unless the director of the original film has a concept they like and are prepared to go forward on.”

A sequel is allegedly in the process, with only one cast member already committed to returning, as per sources.
