Shark Tank India is a business and investment based reality show based on an American TV show from the same name. It features budding ideas and startups. If convinced by the entrepreneurs, the judges of the show, also known as Sharks, invest in their startups. It has been streaming on SonyTV since December 2021.
Wakao Foods is a food brand founded by Sairaj Gaurish Dhond. The company offers a range of food recipes made from jackfruit. Wakao Food is a Goa-based company and hopes to cater vegan jackfruit meat globally. Wakao Foods has been offered Rs 75 lakhs in exchange for 30 per cent equity in the company. The offer has been made by Shark Ghazal Alagh, co-founder of Mamaearth. Other Sharks including Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar have shown interest in the venture. However, Shark Peyush Bansal has advised Dhond not to dilute 30 per cent for the offer.
