The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) searched actor Ananya Panday’s Mumbai residence, and she was summoned for interrogation, according to authorities. In connection with the Mumbai drug case, the anti-drug agency also went to Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat home to conduct a raid. She has now been summoned to the NCB office for interrogation on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. According to an NDTV storey, investigators discovered Ananya Panday’s name in Aryan Khan’s WhatsApp talks.
The bail hearing for Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been rescheduled until Tuesday (October 26). The NCB has not been provided a copy of the petition, according to Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh. The copy was served online, according to lawyer Satish Maneshinde. The bail hearing will be held physically in court on Tuesday after the High Court denied the video-conference session (October 26).
On Thursday, Aryan’s attorneys were scheduled to ask the Bombay High Court to consider his bail application urgently. This comes only a day after a special Narcotics, Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court in Mumbai denied the 23-year-bail old’s application, claiming that he was regularly engaging in ‘illicit drug activities’ and may commit an offence if freed. Aryan filed an appeal in the Bombay High Court against the special NDPS court order shortly after the judgement was made public.
Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were also denied bail by the NDPS court on Wednesday, joining Aryan. The special court heard the bail requests of all three defendants in the drug case and denied them, stating that they all acted in concert with one another and are all linked by the same thread. NCB’s claim that all of the defendants are part of a vast drug network was also accepted by the judge.
“In the matter at hand, information submitted on record demonstrates that there is damning material in the form of WhatsApp chats, etc., which exposes the connection of the applicant / accused no. 1 with suppliers and peddlers,” the court said in a 21-page ruling. Aryan’s WhatsApp communications also mention ‘bulk amount’ and ‘hard narcotics,’ according to the order. The ruling stated, “There is prima facie evidence that accused No 1 was in touch with people dealing in illegal narcotic drugs.”
