Last season’s finale saw comedian Midge Maisel suffer a major setback when, after unintentionally outing singer Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain) during a set, she is axed from his tour. The episode ends with Midge stranded at an airport with her agent Susie Myerson (Family Guy’s Alex Borstein) by her side. “We’re gonna be okay,” Susie says, in her thick Queen’s accent. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4’s trailer sees the duo back in action, planning Midge’s comeback. Set to the tune of Ethel Merman’s “Rose’s Turn,” Midge states her terms in a 1960s diner: “No more opening act gigs,” “I will only do gigs where I can say what I want,” and “Make me a headliner,” respectively. When Susie reminds her that this isn’t how the comedy business works — she is not male comedian Lenny Bruce, and cannot afford such mobility – Midge fires back, “Then let’s change the business,” setting the agenda for the upcoming season.

Whilst previous seasons have dropped all episodes at once (allowing for some nice binge-watching), new episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will be released twice a week for four weeks. For a quicker fix of Midge, however, one only has to turn to Brosnahan’s Instagram. The actress has been pretty active on there as of late, sharing behind-the-scenes photos of season 4, much to fans’ amusement.
