Fans of The Incredible Hulk movie can now watch the green giant’s introduction on a new streaming service. The movie will now be moving onto HBO Max’s platform, which is commonly home to DC projects.
The Incredible Hulk stars Edward Norton as the titular hero, before he was replaced by Mark Ruffalo in the Avengers film and everything that followed it. Ruffalo became an instant fan favorite following his debut in the first Avengers film, but Hulk hasn’t been taken seriously since his last solo outing. The character, however, has always been a main character in every Avengers movie following his debut.
The Incredible Hulk will head to HBO Max on April 1st, 2022, making it one of the few MCU films that won’t be available on Disney Plus. As fans may know, Marvel Studios produced The Incredible Hulk and Universal distributed it, with the latter retaining first refusal to distribute a solo Hulk film, but Marvel Studios can still use the character for team-up projects. Rumors are saying that the upcoming She-Hulk television show will be aligning itself closer to The Incredible Hulk movie, which isn’t commonly referenced in many of the MCU movies or television shows. Hopefully fans of Hulk will get the acknowledgement that they’re looking for when they watch the new show. Abomination returned in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but now it looks like he will also be returning for She-Hulk.
In the meantime, everyone should go ahead and check out The Incredible Hulk while they can. It would be nice to see another Hulk movie come out one day, and it would also be nice to see Hulk get back to his “savage” roots. It seems like Marvel Studios is now adapting the storyline from the comics where Bruce Banner has figured out how to stay conscious while in Hulk form, so it may be far-fetched to see Hulk say “Hulk Smash” again.
For those who already seen the movie, this is a good chance to relive what was once a great experience for many fans. Hulk is a fan favorite character, and it’s always great to see characters evolve or grow, but not seeing him be the rage-filled Hulk many are used to is disappointing for a lot of viewers. It seemed like Thanos beat Hulk so bad that it turned him smart, which is quite ironic.
Not seeing Hulk fight Thanos for the rematch is very disappointing because that would have been incredible to see on the big screen. Hulk, Vision and Drax are three very powerful characters from the comic books that received “nerf” treatment in the recent Avengers movies when it comes to Thanos. It would be nice to see these characters emulate the strength and intimidation that was present in previous films and even the comic books,
The Incredible Hulk is coming to HBO Max on April 1st, 2022.
