For the psychological horror film The Front Room, A24 is collaborating with the Eggers brothers—Max Eggers and Sam Eggers, co-writers of The Lighthouse. The screenwriting brothers will adapt Susan Hill’s short story of the same name for their first collaborative effort as directors. The Front Room centres on a young, pregnant couple who are made to care for an elderly stepmother who has been living alone for a long time.

Brandy Norwood, a Grammy Award-winning actress and artist, along with Neal Huff, Andrew Burnap, and Kathryn Hunter, will serve as the ensemble cast’s leaders. Lucan Toh, Babak Anvari, Bryan Sonderman, Julia Oh, and David Hinojosa are all listed as co-producers. The Front Room’s financing and global release will be handled by A24.

The Lighthouse is a drama about two lighthouse keepers, Thomas Wake (Willem Dafoe) and Ephraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson), whose isolation on an unnamed island off the coast of New England builds a strange, amusing, and rocky relationship. Max Eggers and Robert Eggers co-wrote the screenplay with Robert Eggers, and also directed the drama.
