The idea has been kicked around in the past by Hughie actor Jack Quaid. A huge gamer himself, Quaid had a few different ideas for the direction that the project could be taken. One suggestion would be to play as anyone from the show, with the speedster A-Train and the Superman-like Homelander near the top of Quaid’s list. He also pushed for a tactical shooter which would see players controlling The Boys and fighting against the Supes, with some neat boss fights sure to be included.

One common suggestion was an open world game, with Twitter users like @SRDominatrix getting plenty of likes for the comment. Given that The Boys TV series is so over the top, giving players an open world to mess around in would be a solid way to recreate the randomness. The topic of who is actually playable remains, though. While it would undoubtedly be more fun to play as The Supes, especially in an open world, fighting against The Boys would likely feel strange. Given how villainous most of The Supes are, too, working out a proper story for the game would be challenging.

Another suggestion comes from @hailedfrequency, with the fan pushing for a fighting game. This could be the best possible option, as it would allow whatever studio develops the game to create a tight narrative. It also allows for characters like Homelander to be contained a bit, something that an open world game could struggle with. With a proper Superman game yet to be made, getting Homelander right in a traditional superhero game would be tough. On the downside, it would be tough to make each of The Boys feel unique, as none have unique powers or abilities.

Regardless of what form it takes, this playful teaser for a video game centered on The Boys is promising. With a random restaurant themed around The Boys  being created, it seems clear that anything could happen when it comes to the series.
