If you are into Cyberpunk themed video games, you might be surprised to know Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the only game in the genre.
Developed by Neon Giant and published by Curve Digital, The Ascent is an action RPG game that was released in July last year. Made using Unreal Engine 4, players control characters from an isometric view.
Although many have praised it for its gameplay and overall presentation, game-breaking issues such as players losing their progress and being unable to progress due to the Mutual Dependencies bug have deterred many trying the title.
Having said that, PS4 and PS5 owners are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that The Ascent is crashing because of corrupted save game data. The problem is causing those affected to either start from scratch or download their cloud save if they have one.
Many say they are disheartened and don’t want to start all over. It looks like reinstalling the game isn’t helping either since the game continues crashing and eventually corrupts their save game file.
As it turns out, The Ascent developers have acknowledged the issue where save game data might get corrupted due to crashing issues for PlayStation users and said they will patch in a future version.
However, there is no ETA on when the update will be available. As always, make sure you keep checking this space for more information since the article will be updated if and when the problem will be fixed.
