Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as other games in the series have done, brings a huge list of villagers to a player’s doorstep. From frogs and rabbits to gorillas and eagles, players can have a bunch of differently designed species appear on their island in the game. One of these Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers, Coco, has become known for their unique look, and it was shockingly recreated by one player in human form.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the fifth main entry in the Animal Crossing series. Players control a character that moves to a deserted island and can gather and craft items, customize their home, and develop it. Villagers can come in a variety of different species with one of several personalities.
This recreation of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Coco is the product of Reddit user ZoeyKing_ and it is quite the sight to behold. Coco, normally a light brown rabbit with dark speckles, has been completely transformed into a human figure in this painting. While normally an unassuming rabbit villager, this version of Coco has a much less friendly look because of its empty eyes and mouth. While ZoeyKing_ did a great job transferring Coco’s light brown look and dark eyes and mouth to this creation, seeing this face on a human body changes the vibe of this character quite a bit. Unfortunately, not even the green and white shirt dress combination that is in this painting can take away from that scary look.
Coco is known as the only villager whose face does not change with expressions and so recreating this unique look will always come with a chance of being a bit scary. ZoeyKing_ even mentions that they attempted to add hair and rabbit ears to their human version of Coco but that these additions only made the design look strange.
The variety of villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives players plenty to choose from when it comes to building up the population of their island. Aside from the sheer number of villagers, each one can have one of several different personality types which gives players unique dialogue options.
Then again, the game can’t satisfy every player and, though there are hundreds of villagers, there are only a group of personalities to choose from in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This can make some dialogue a bit repetitive for players who often play with the same villagers. Either way, this is an impressive but scary recreation of Coco.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
