Sydney Sweeney was nominated for two Emmy awards on Tuesday for her performances in the television series “Euphoria” and “White Lotus,” for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series, respectively. Although “Euphoria” has already received nominations, these are Sweeney’s first-ever nominations.

Later, Sweeney posted a heartwarming moment of herself crying while talking to her mother on the phone as she responded to the news on Instagram.

“Mom!” Sydney squealed when her mother praised her on the other end of the phone call. The actress then started to laugh before she started crying joyfully. Eventually, Sweeney started receiving even more, likely congratulatory messages, and the two ended their call.

“what a morning! thank you so much to the @televisionacad for my Emmy nominations!” Sweeney captioned the video. “It’s an honor to know that both Olivia and Cassie have connected with so many. I’m so proud of both these shows and grateful to everybody that’s been apart of them.”

She thanked her mum in her message’s conclusion. She wrote: “But most importantly mom, I love you, we did it through the ups and downs!🥺♥️🥰 thank you thank you!!”

Numerous famous friends and co-stars expressed their support for the first-time nominee in the comments, including Zendaya. “YEEESSS SYD!!!!!! Congratulations!” the “Spiderman: No Way Home” star wrote.

Maude Apatow, Sydney’s co-star and closest pal, added her thoughts saying, “F–KING QUEEN I LOVE YOU.”

As the youngest person to ever receive two lead acting nominations, Zendaya also set a record this year by receiving a nomination for producing. The songs “Elliot’s Song” and “I’m Tired” from the HBO series received two nominations each for original music and lyrics from her.

On September 12, the 74th Emmy Awards will be live-streamed on Peacock for the first time in addition to being aired on NBC.
