Marvel’s Spider-Man did plenty of things to please fans of the wall-crawler, but its plentiful costumes are one area where it went above and beyond. Not only was there a massive lineup of outfits available on release, but that number expanded greatly through the City Never Sleeps DLC and free updates that added new costumes based on the movies.

While the suit lineup in Marvel’s Spider-Man was varied and full of winning looks for the friendly neighborhood hero, the sequel’s lineup could be even better. With the highly anticipated Symbiote suit all-but confirmed, and requests constantly being made, many are looking forward to the new costumes that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will add. While this is understandable, there are also several costumes from the original game that should make their way to the sequel.

Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Movie Suits Should Return

One great thing about the Marvel’s Spider-Man suit lineup is that it allowed gamers to live out their fantasy of playing as any Spidey seen on the big screen. While fans are still waiting for The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s costume, they got the chance to wear his main suit from the first Amazing Spider-Man. The Raimi suit was also available, and if rumors are true about the sequel providing Symbiote variants for every costume, fans could get to don the black version if the original returns.

Tom Holland’s massive lineup of MCU suits all made their way into Marvel’s Spider-Man, with only the Final suit from No Way Home not yet being added. Not only should this new costume appear in the sequel, but so too should all the other MCU outfits that came before it. Holland’s Spidey has worn a large variety of suits over the years, ranging from the Iron Spider armor to the Stealth suit provided by Nick Fury in Far From Home. These looks all stand out as unique, and because of that, they should come back in the next game. The animated style of the Into The Spider-Verse suit worn by Peter B. Parker also sets it apart, so it too should return.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Comic Suits That Should Make a Comeback

Alongside bringing back all the movie suits seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man, there are several comic book costumes that should be a lock for the next game. For starters, Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Man 2099 are must-haves. The darker version of Peter Parker from the Noir universe has an iconic look, and the sequel could add to it a bit by letting players wear his hat and trench coat. As for Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O’Hara’s futuristic look and Batman-like arm blades make it one worth keeping around.

Another iconic costume that needs to return is the Scarlet Spider suit. While there is a great case to be made for another Ben Reilly costume to be added in the sequel, the lack of webbing and the tilted Spider symbol make this particular design a classic. The various Spider Armors would be worth bringing back as well, as each provides its own standout aesthetic, giving fans of armored costumes some options.

Some suits that span Peter’s career as a crimefighter would also be worth including, too. The original, classic costume is needed, and if the sequel does not have deep Battle Damage mechanics, then the torn variant should also return. The Wrestler suit is worth bringing back because of its importance, and newer costumes like the Big Time suit also deserve to reappear. Given that it is an Insomniac creation, the Velocity suit being brought back would make sense. While some costumes can be left behind, like the Fear Itself suit and Spirit Spider, Insomniac Games did an excellent job with the original game’s lineup. As such, it should focus mainly on expanding it instead of swapping out great costumes.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
