Aerial Knight’s Never Yield is perhaps one of the more striking indie games headed to the Nintendo Switch in the near future. The game was undoubtedly one of the most stylish games featured at today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase livestream, showing off its fast-paced rhythm-based gameplay.
The trailer was introduced by the game’s developer, Neil “Aerial_Knight” Jones, who’s partnering with Headup Games to bring Aerial Knight’s to Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the trailer gave fans looking forward to Aerial Knight’s Never Yield a May 19 release date for the Nintendo Switch version.
Aerial Knight’s Never Yield’s trailer leaves a big impression, thanks to the groovy background track and stylish cell-shaded, 3D aesthetic. The game’s story follows the protagonist Wally as he traverses through the futuristic city of Detroit. The soundtrack is composed by Detroit-based artist Daniel Wilkins, with various artists from around the world lending vocals to the game’s OST. Though, the gameplay might also be many player’s biggest draw, as it looks very reminiscent of other rhythm-based runners like Bit.Trip Runner.
Additionally, those interested in trying out Aerial Knight’s Never Yield before its release date next month can head over to the Nintendo eShop to download a demo of the game. Though no specific timeframe was set for the demo, it will be available for players to download sometime “later today.” The Switch is host to a myriad of excellent rhythm games like Cadence of Hyrule, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ’n’ Fun!. Now, Aerial Knight’s Never Yield looks to be joining that catalog too when the game launches next month.
Aerial Knight’s Never Yield releases for the Nintendo Switch on May 19, with a PC release coming sometime in 2021.
