New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on November 16, 2022) follows:
With Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ around the corner, fans are flocking to various online ticket-selling platforms to get their hands on the presale tickets.
Considering Swift’s humungous fanbase, the crashing of those platforms is inevitable and that’s exactly what one of the largest ticket-sales companies, Ticketmaster witnessed.
The presale for the Taylor Swift concert caused a complete ruckus on Ticketmaster thus rendering the site inaccessible to thousands of people.
However, that was not the only issue as we highlighted how the Presale access text code for the same was not arriving for many, preventing them from buying the ticket.
StubHub scalping or touting Taylor Swift tickets
While presale tickets were initially only open to the selected fans, many have now been noticing how some of those fans are reselling the tickets on StubHub for as much as $22,700 each.
To further aggravate the matter, many are also furious as to how the resale site, StubHub is allowing for such scalping and touting of Taylor Swift tickets.
Some are even wondering why such scalpers on the site are not being questioned. Had it been the case with people reselling their tickets outside the venues, they would have been nabbed and reprimanded there and then.
No official comment yet
It’s even more disheartening to see that there has been no official comment on the issue at hand and such practices continue to run on the site.
So, fans who are still trying to buy tickets can either wait patiently for them to go on sale or for the team to come up with a solution that might bring the escalated rates of tickets under control.
That said, we’ll keep tabs on the issue and update this space as and when we come across new information.
Update 1 (November 17, 2022)
12:20 pm (IST): Similar to the presale for the Taylor Swift concert, Tyler Childer’s ticket sales were poorly managed by TicketMaster.
Consequently, many Tyler Childer’s tickets are now being sold on StubHub at much higher prices.
03:38 pm (IST): Ticketmaster ‘a scam‘ trends on Twitter following Taylor Swift & Tyler Childers Presale chaos. This has also prompted many to call out the platform and Live Nation for their monopoly in business.
