Bethesda Softworks introduced settlements to the Fallout universe with Fallout 4, and since its release, players have been creating their ideal post-apocalyptic houses in the Boston Commonwealth. One Fallout 4 fan with a built-up settlement has discovered a strange detail in their Vault 88 as the large area seems inhabited by an invisible entity.

Reddit user No-Atmosphere-4145 recently shared a clip of one of their settlements in Fallout 4, which has a cleaner look than more rundown locations like Sanctuary Hills, Starlight Drive-In, or The Slog. The settlement focused on in the No-Atmosphere-4145 clip is Vault 88, which is unlocked by completing quests in the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC. Players who purchase the Fallout 4 Season Pass will have access to Vault-Tec Workshop and thus Vault 88 in addition to the content offered in Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, and Nuka-World.

No-Atmosphere-4145’s clip begins with the Fallout 4 player taking a seat at a bar in their Vault 88 next to a Nuka-World poster and baseball player statue in a well-lit room. The Fallout 4 player then shows off a living room set in a corner of the room which includes multiple pre-war comforts like a TV, four chairs, and a radio. No-Atmosphere-4145 then heads down one of the multiple hallways connecting the many rooms of Vault 88 and is surprised to see objects moving in a room at the end of the hall without any NPCs nearby.

Approaching a weight bench, which is seemingly being used in the Fallout 4 Vault-tec Workshop locale, No-Atmosphere-4145 activates VATS multiple times to show that there are no invisible NPCs in their workout room. The weights continue to raise and lower as the Fallout 4 player enters the room and shows the normalcy of the other objects near it. The room includes multiple lockers, Power Cycle 1000, a Pommel horse, a Basketball hoop above a sign that says “work hard,” and a water fountain near a bench, with several posters covering the walls.

There are a total of 30 Fallout 4 settlements to build up in the base version of the Bethesda Softworks RPG, with seven additional locations offered through add-on content. Because No-Atmosphere-4145 used VATS to confirm that the objects in their Vault 88 weren’t being manipulated by Settlers that had taken a Stealthboy to become invisible, it’s currently unclear what is causing the items in their Vault 88 to move on their own accord, but it may be an animation bug. While some Fallout 4 players may look to replicate this haunted settlement in their own games, others like No-Atmosphere-4145 may lament the empty location remaining inhabited by something unseen.

Fallout 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
