Steven Spielberg directed and co-produced The Fabelmans, an American coming-of-age drama film based on a screenplay. The film features Gabriel LaBelle as Sammy Fabelman, an ambitious young filmmaker modeled after Steven Spielberg. Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, and Seth Rogen all appear in supporting roles. The movie is dedicated to Spielberg’s real-life parents, Leah Adler and Arnold Spielberg.

On September 10, 2022, The Fabelmans premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Universal Pictures has planned to release it in selected theatres in Los Angeles and New York City on November 11, 2022, followed by a nationwide release on November 23 in the United States. It is Spielberg’s first Universal release since Munich (2005). In the United Kingdom, Entertainment One will handle distribution, while Nordisk Film will release the film in select international territories.

Critics praised Spielberg’s direction, the screenplay, the performances of Williams, LaBelle, Dano, and Hirsch, as well as the cinematography and score.
