Steam is for many the definitive PC game provider, being known for its massive catalog of games and frequent promotions in its store. While some other retailers have beaten Steam to the punch, it has finally arrived to Black Friday 2021, with its ginormous Autumn Sale now officially live, bringing deals to games across the entire site.
The discounts available at Black Friday can often be overwhelming, shoppers often having to fight the urge to spend more than they should. This phenomenon can also be attributed to Steam and its legendary Summer Sale, where in some cases, the deals exceed those of Black Friday, leading to some hefty shopping carts and mighty backlog increases. Valve recently outlined its sale plan for the rest of the year, announcing that the Autumn Sale would begin today. Competitor of Steam, the Epic Games Store, already began its Black Friday 2021 promotion a few days ago, getting the jumpstart on Steam offering some impressive deals of its own.
Steam’s Autumn Sale has begun, bringing great savings to the Store from now until December 1 at 10AM PST. Big discounts are available on some of this year’s games like Deathloop at 50% off for $29.99, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy at 35% off for $29.99, and Back 4 Blood at 30% off for $41.99. In light of its win as the Golden Joystick Ultimate Game of All Time, the entire Dark Souls franchise is half off, including Dark Souls: Remastered for only $19.99. Many other remasters are also on sale, like Mass Effect Legendary Edition at 42% off for $34.79, Batman: Arkham Collection at a whopping 80% off for $11.99, and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition at 67% off for just $13.19.
There are incredible deals on this year’s largest indie games as well. Players can check out Inscryption for $15.99, a savings of 20%, and Death’s Door for $14.99, a savings of 25%, both of which were nominated for Best Indie Game at The Game Awards 2021. Multiplayer fans have many deals for them as well, with Halo: The Master Chief Collection being 50% off for $19.99, the popular MMO New World at 25% off for 29.99, and Rust at 33% off for $26.79. If one hasn’t done so yet, now is a perfect time to get the Valve Complete Pack, bundling everything from Team Fortress Classic and Half-Life, to Left 4 Dead and Portal 2 for a meager $13.14, down from $145.82, a savings of 91%.
Whether one wants to shop for themselves or needs to pick out the perfect gift, now is the time to shop on the Steam Store. Across the board, these deals are impressive, and especially those on this year’s titles, which will likely shoot back up to full price when the sale ends. What’s more, Steam’s refund policy allows players to try games and get their money back if they didn’t like it within a certain amount of time, so perhaps there’s a title out there worth taking a chance on while it’s discounted. Steam came in full force to Black Friday 2021 it seems.
