In Stardew Valley there are several ways to make money, since there are various skills to tackle and each one has its own ways of providing income. In every season, there are crops that are definitely worth investing in given how much more lucrative they can be. However, another great way to make money is to make some money is to use crops and other items to make artisan goods.

The best way to maximize profit when it comes to selling artisan goods is to pick the Tiller profession at level 5 farming, and then the Artisan profession at level 10 farming. The Artisan profession increases the sell price of artisan goods by 40%. But, of course, Stardew Valleyplayers should still know the best artisan products and which ones to focus on.

Updated May 4th, 2022 by Russ Boswell: Stardew Valley continues to be one of the greatest Indie games ever created. Although players are now anxiously awaiting the Haunted Chocolatier (from the same developer), there are still those that log in to Stardew Valley each and every day to check on their farm and visit their favorite NPCs. There is simply so much to do, see, and create in the expansive pixelated adventure. Those that wish to make a living producing their own items to sell can consider Artisan Goods, which can bring in quite a bit of money if players put forth the effort to create them. To better help those out there that are looking to rake in the cash on their farm, the following list of profitable Artisan Goods in Stardew Valley has been updated. It now includes additional entries for some items that may be profitable to make, considering they’re fairly easy to find ingredients for.

9 Caviar

Caviar is an expensive artisan good that can be obtained from Sturgeon Roe. All that is needed to get it is a preserves jar, a fish pond, and a Sturgeon. First the player must build a fish pond on their farm, and then populate it with at least one Sturgeon. These fish can be caught in the mountain lake in Summer and Winter.

The sturgeon will produce Sturgeon Roe, which, when placed in the preserves jar, turns into caviar instead of aged roe. Caviar will sell for 500g, or 700g if the player has chosen the artisan profession.

8 Goat Cheese

Although Cheese can fetch a hefty price when made en masse, the real money lies in Goat Cheese. Those that have a stable of goats on their farm can use a Milk Pail to snag Goat Milk from them. If a goat has a high enough Mood and Friendship level with the player it is capable of producing a Large Goat Milk, which can be sold on its own for a higher price but will also produce a better Goat Cheese. When crafted, Goat Cheese will sell for 400g (600g if a Large Goat Milk is used).

Those that want to craft Goat Cheese will first need to get their hands on a Cheese Press. The item can be crafted once players learn the recipe at Level 6 Farming. It requires 45 x Wood, 45 x Stone, 10 x Hardwood, and 1 x Copper Bar. Those that don’t want to craft a Cheese Press can also obtain one by completing the Animal Bundle in the Pantry. Goat Cheese takes approximately 200m (or three hours) to create. It’s also possible to age Goat Cheese in the Cask to further raise its price.

7 Cloth

There are a lot of items in Stardew Valley that serve a purpose, acting as a catalyst to help build other items or as a resource for players to make bigger and better things as they progress in growing their farms. Thanks to all of the things that players can build and craft, it’s easy to understand why some may make a certain material only once and then forget about it moving forward. That said, there are some items that are actually pretty valuable, and can net players a decent profit past their “one-time use.”

Cloth is a great example of this. Although it’s used in the production of the Mill and can be used to finish the Artisan Bundle, it actually maintains a decent amount of value. Players can make Cloth by using the Wool from a Sheep or Rabbit. Cloth sells for 470g each, takes one Wool to produce, and requires the Loom. Players will be able to craft the Loom (after learning the recipe at Farming Level 7) by combining 60 x Wood, 30 x Fiber, and 1 x Pine Tar.

Another aspect that makes Cloth extra profitable is that players will sometimes receive 2 x Cloth if they use a piece of High-Quality Wool in the Loom.

6 Fairy Rose Honey

There are several types of honey in Stardew Valley, and some of them more valuable than others. Wild honey doesn’t require any type of flower to be placed around the bee house, but it’s only worth 100g. However, flower honey will sell for a much higher price.

Planting a Fairy Rose flower in near a Bee House in Fall will result in Fairy Rose Honey, which is worth 680g, or 952g with the Artisan profession. So, placing various bee houses around the Fairy Rose flowers will create lots of honey pots at the same time. Placing them as displayed in the picture above will maximize profits.

5 Pickles & Juice

The value of a specific type of pickles depends on the vegetable that’s placed in the preserves jar. This is calculated by multiplying the base value of the vegetable by two, and adding fifty. Therefore, less valuable vegetables won’t be worth much when turned into pickles.

Pumpkins are a valuable vegetable. Pumpkin Pickles are worth 690g (966g with Artisan). Pumpkin juice is also worth making. Juice’s value is calculated by multiplying the base value of the vegetable by 2.25, making Pumpkin Juice sell for 720g (or 1,008g with Artisan).

4 Truffle Oil

Once the player has upgraded their Barn to a Deluxe Barn, they’ll be able to own pigs. Pigs can dig up Truffles, which can be turned into Truffle Oil in the Oil Maker. Iridium quality Truffles are worth 1,250g, but base quality truffles are only worth 625g. Turning these less valuable truffles into oil is a great way to make use of them.

Once in the Oil Maker, it only takes six in-game hours for the truffle to turn into oil. The product can be sold for 1,065g (1,491g with Artisan.)

3 Pale Ale

Pale Ale is actually one of the most profitable items in the entire game. It’s made from Hops, and players can buy Hops Starter for only 60g. What’s more, this plant produces every day once mature, letting players yield a huge harvest.

Placing a harvested hop in a keg will turn it into Pale Ale in no more than two days after which it’ll only be worth about 300g. However, once it is ready, the pale ale can be put in a cask. After 34 days it will age into iridium quality Pale Ale, which is worth 600g (840g with Artisan). It takes a while, but it’s a great investment.

2 Jelly

Jelly works very similarly to pickles in Stardew Valley. The only thing that the player has to do is place a fruit in the preserves jar instead of a vegetable. Starfruit is the fruit that will sell for the most money, so it can make quite valuable products. Its jelly is so profitable because of this exact reason.

Starfruit jelly will sell for 1,550g (2,107g with Artisan). There are much less valuable jellies, of course, but this jam can be sold for some serious money.

1 Wine

Wine is the most valuable artisan good that players can make, as it is worth three times the value of the fruit that’s placed in the keg to make it. Once the fruit has been turned into wine, it can be put into a cask, just like pale ale, and aged to increase its quality. Silver and Gold wine are quite valuable, but Iridium-quality wine is the best.

Ancient Fruit and Starfruit are the most worthwhile to turn into wine. Iridium-quality Ancient Fruit Wine is worth 3,300g (4,620g with Artisan) Iridium quality Starfruit wine is worth 4,500g (6,300g with Artisan), and is one of the most valuable items that a player can produce.

Stardew Valley is available for Android, iOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S
