In the stand-alone Star Trek series Picard, Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Jean-Luc Picard for one last season.

The premiere date, cast, narrative, and other information for the third season of Picard have all been set up. If fantasy is more your style, season 3 of The Witcher has a similar roundup.

Release Date

On Star Trek Day, Patrick Stewart revealed that the third and final season of the show has been approved. Although the specific month has not been established, it will premiere in 2023.

According to sources, season 3 and season 2 were shot simultaneously, so we anticipate that the wait will not be too long. Season 2 premiered in March 2022, therefore we anticipate that season 3 will follow sometime in the early spring.

Cast

Sir Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as the title character because “Picard” wouldn’t be the same without the man himself. In addition, the following co-stars will return: Rafaella “Raffi” Musiker is portrayed by Michelle Hurd, Elnor by Evan Evagora, and Seven of Nine by Jeri Ryan.

Sadly, Agnes Jurati will not be played by Alison Pill in season 3. Santiago Cabrera, who last season chose to remain in the past as Cristobal “Chris” Rios, is similarly unclear about his future in the role.

Luckily, there are many familiar faces from Star Trek: The Next Generation returning.

Other casts include:

  • LeVar Burton (Lt Commander Geordi LaForge),
  • Michael Dorn (Worf),
  • Jonathan Frakes (Commander William T Riker),
  • Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher),
  • Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi)
  • Brent Spiner (Data)

Storyline

However, producer Terry Matalas has stated that he intended Jean-Luc Picard’s journey to end by “honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most faithful companions from the USS Enterprise.” Little is known about the content of season 3 of Picard.

The Wrath of Khan is said to have served as inspiration for the narrative. This was alluded to in season 2 when Dr. Adam Soong revealed a hidden folder in LA 2024 bearing the name “Project Khan.” Co-creator Alex Kurtzman later confirmed this at comic-con.

Kurtzman handled this narrative as if it were the final Next Gen film, and he will investigate the characters’ current personal circumstances.

The villain of the show is a brand-new character who is purportedly portrayed by a well-known female star who Matalas has long wished to collaborate with.
