Just weeks after a video of him assaulting a dog went viral, “Black Ink” star Ceaser Emanuel handed himself in to police in connection with animal cruelty charges.
Emanuel surrendered himself in on Wednesday, according to a representative for the Georgian City of South Fulton PD, according to sources. According to inmate records, Emanuel is accused of two charges of aggravated animal cruelty and two offences of animal cruelty.
Shortly after the web video of Ceasar striking a dog with a metal chair surfaced, he was let go from “Black Ink Crew.” According to Emanuel’s attorney, the video was taken while COVID was there and may have been leaked by an ex-girlfriend who was on Emanuel’s side.
Police have not officially confirmed whether the charges are related to the abuse video, but since South Fulton investigators were investigating into the event, it is certainly related.
Regardless of whether the video was leaked or not, there is never a justification for mistreating animals. However, Ceasar maintains that the video doesn’t represent who he really is, assuring us that he was merely intervening in a dispute between his animals.
One of the dogs was handed to a friend after the video was taken, according to Ceasar, who claims he no longer owns it.
Back in June, his rep told us, “Although his actions were not appropriate at all, [Ceasar] is sincerely apologetic and feels extremely bad. He is dealing with death threats which is causing him fear and depression. His only goal was to build an empire to help build jobs and bring the black community in the tattoo industry successful given that the community is limited there.”
