And according to recent reports from Spotify users, it looks like the radio function is now adding new songs but playing audio from the user’s existing collection.
Many say that it’s been a while since they have heard a new track or artist when tuning in to Spotify Radio. Users say that the radio has become an echo chamber and dwells on the same songs instead of finding new music to listen to.
Some Spotify subscribers say that they want to discover new songs without the service referring to their listening history.
People are frustrated and wondering why the radio function even exists since it is recommending songs they have already listened to or favorited.
As it turns out, Spotify did change the algorithm for Radio and Autoplay formats in November of 2020, which might explain why people are hearing songs from their library.

In the meantime, if you are tired of hearing music from your library when tuning in to Spotify Radio, you can try enabling Autoplay to create a radio with a mix of existing and new songs.
