While fans are still basking in the glow of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems as if Marvel Studios and Sony are hard at work for Tom Holland’s fourth entry in the MCU series. In possible preparation for that, one artist who has made quite a bit of concept art for Marvel Studios over the years has an idea of what Holland’s Spider-Man would look like should he go down the Symbiote Spider-Man path.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has said that Spider-Man 4 is already in the works. What is still a question is just what the next film in the Spider-Man series will offer as a story. There’s also still some question as to whether Holland will return, though it seems unlikely Marvel Studios and Sony are looking to do yet another reboot. One possibility for the next movie’s main plot would be Holland’s Peter Parker being found by and bonding with a symbiote and donning the famous black Spider-Man suit.

Thomas du Crest, who is a concept artist for several MCU films including Spider-Man: Far From Home, recently took to Twitter with his idea of what the newest version of Spidey would look like if and when the symbiote storyline comes to pass. In posting a set of four different pictures from his work, he said that he was also waiting for the go-ahead to show off what kind of concept art he did for No Way Home. In the four pictures, du Crest first shows a headshot of Holland’s Peter Parker as the symbiote seems to be covering his body. The next pic shows the character wearing the whole suit, including the mask. The third and fourth pictures are essentially zoom outs that depict the entirety of the new black suit Spider-Man in all its glory.

This particular situation was made possible thanks to a post credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home that showed Eddie Brock and Venom being sent back to their own universe when Doctor Strange was able to close the rifts in his reality. However, when Brock was sent back, he left behind a piece of the symbiote. Their brief visit in the MCU was first shown in the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Quite a few MCU fans believe that scene could have been a hint at what they will be seeing in Spider-Man 4, especially since Parker’s friends and girlfriend have forgotten he even really exists. Of course, there are other theories out there that the next movie in the series could see the webhead fighting against whoever bonds with the piece of Venom left behind.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is in theaters now.
