Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 16, 2022) follows:
Spectrum is one of the most popular TV, internet and telecommunications service providers in the United States.
One of Spectrum’s biggest draws is the broadcast of the Dodgers baseball games. However, many users are currently disappointed to discover that not all Dodgers games will be available on Spectrum.
Also, the NESN channel is currently unavailable for some Spectrum users, even if they paid for the subscription.
Not all Dodgers games will be available on the Spectrum TV service
Social media platforms like Twitter are full of reports from Spectrum users disappointed to discover that they don’t have access to all Dodgers games.
If they want to watch all Dodgers games, Spectrum users must sign up for Apple TV and Peacock streaming services.
Blame it on the new MLB broadcast contracts
Apparently, the issue isn’t Spectrum’s fault but that of current MLB broadcast contracts. The MLB agreed with both Apple TV and Peacock to broadcast some Dodgers games.
The Spectrum team also confirms that the MLB is responsible for the situation.
According to some users, the vast majority of Dodgers games will still stream on Spectrum. However, if you want to watch Dodgers games for the entire season, you’ll need to sign up for Apple TV+ and Peacock (in addition to Spectrum).
NESN channel unavailable in Spectrum catalog for some users
NESN (New England Sports Network) is a channel focused on sports such as baseball, ice hockey and American football. Spectrum TV service offers plans that include the NESN channel.
However, according to multiple reports, the NESN channel is missing for many Spectrum users even though it is included in the contracted package.
There seems to be a sync issue between Spectrum and the NESN platform. A user reports that Spectrum does not appear in the official list of services that include NESN.
By 630 or so, that message was cropping up on many other channels we generally watch. Spectrum now tells me there’s some kind of outage. I’m assuming they are saying so without irony. Source
The Spectrum team is already aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. But, there are no details yet on an ETA for a fix.
We will update this story as events unfold in the future.
Update 1 (April 19)
08:50 am (IST): While the previous Dodgers game was an Apple TV+-exclusive, the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves game is now streaming on Bally Sports Southeast, Fox Sports Southeast, and Spectrum SportsNet LA as highlighted by a report. So Spectrum subscribers can tune into the game.
