Sonam Kapoor, the world’s most famous fashionista, celebrated her birthday on June 9. On social networking sites, the Bollywood actress has been receiving well wishes and messages from friends, family, and fans as she prepares to welcome her first child with her husband Anand Ahuja. The sweetest message came from Sonam’s spouse, Anand — no prizes for guessing who it was. At the stroke of midnight, the entrepreneur tweeted a charming photo with Sonam, in which she is seen kissing Anand’s forehead. “Happy birthday,” he wrote, along with two heart emojis. The photo appears to have been taken at home, with the couple dressed casually and Sonam glowing with her pregnancy.
Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor’s father, also sent a sweet birthday message for his daughter, along with a slew of photos of the actress. In the caption, he said, “Dear Sonam Kapoor, if there’s anything that makes up for not being able to celebrate your birthday with you this year, it’s the anticipation that the next time we see you, we’ll be that much closer to holding our grandchild in our arms!”
“Parenthood is a see-saw between being happy for your children as they create their own lives and being sad that they’re not always around you anymore….you’ll see for yourself soon enough! Happy birthday my darling girl! We can’t wait to see you, Anand and our little prince(ss) soon,” said the veteran actor of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s first steps into parenthood.
Sonam Kapoor replied to the post by saying, “Love you, daddy,” with a heart emoji. Director-choreographer Farah Khan Kunder said, “Happy birthday to this beautiful girl.”
Mom Sunita Kapoor sent Sonam a collection of nostalgic photos as a gift. She also left a note with the photos: “Happiest bday my darling daughter ( soon to be mommy) love you so much, you are the best and most loving child any parent can have. In my eyes, there is no one that can equal your beauty and no words can describe how much you mean to me. Nothing that can lessen my love for you…No matter how old you might be. You will always be my little girl to me. Love you to eternity.”
Sonam Kapoor replied saying, “Love you, mama.”
Rhea Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor’s sister with whom she has a close relationship, also sent a beautiful message for the birthday girl.
Sharing several images of the two sisters, Rhea said, “Happy birthday to the best. The original. The kindest. The iconic. The completely nuts. The most loving. My favorite human, ultimate sister and soulmate.”
To this, Sonam replied, “Love you…God gave me a sister to make me whole.”
Sonam Kapoor’s cousin, Arjun Kapoor too shared an adorable throwback picture and said, “Happy birthday, Sonam Kapoor. This photo sums us up perfectly. You the bashful one & me the thinker…time’s flown by but we haven’t changed just grown up I guess…from us being kids to you having one of your own now…”
He further added, “Always proud of you and got your back despite u already having someone as solid as Anand Ahuja, love you always your older (technically I’m just about 17 days younger but doesn’t feel like that with your madness around) brother.”
Replying to the post, Anand Ahuja said, “Seeing both your expressions in this is incredible and so telling of your relationship. You trying to be earnest and her teasing you.”
