The successful wrap up of the television series “1883” made a large section of its fans want more. In an ongoing scenario, 1883 doesn’t seem to be coming up with an official new season anytime sooner. However, fans would be delighted to be aware that Paramount+ recently announced that the upcoming limited series of Taylor Sheridan, “The Bass Reeves Story” would be an offshoot of the “1883”. Thus for fans who are anticipating a Season 2 of 1883, “The Bass Reeves Story” should be the next go to series.
1883 was a Yellowstone spinoff. 1883 involved the first generation of Dutton ranchers finding their way to Montana. It is where they established the iconic Yellowstone ranch.
The upcoming Taylor Sheridan’s series will star David Oyelowo, the Golden Globe nominee as Bass Reeves. Bass Reeves is a legendary 19th century lawman of the Wild West. This will perfectly depict the tough life and lawlessness of the era.
1883: The Bass Reeves Story is not a direct follow-up of the original series, thus it won’t feature the same storyline as in 1883. Additionally Paramount+ hasn’t updated any official release date of Season 2 of 1883. However, in February 2022, Paramount+ did inform that the next chapter of 2022 can be expected by late 2022. With the upcoming Season 5 of Yellowstone, critics are also of the view that 2023 seems more likely for a Season 2 of 1883.
